The Touch of God
I Samuel 10:26
When I think about the touch of God, I am reminded of how many times we as believers look to man expecting them to touch us. So I began to look at God’s touch in our lives because the touch of God is the TRANSFORMING TOUCH. (I Corinthians 5:16 and Romans 12:1-2) We need to be transformed in our vocabulary. The words that we speak give life or death. We need to learn to speak life over our situations in life that we are facing. We need to be transformed in our actions as well. Our actions speak louder than our words. Our minds also need to be transformed. Negative thinking is very infectious as well as positive thinking. We must get positive thinking inside our spiritual man in order to succeed in spiritual victories.
God’s touch
is a PRUNING TOUCH. (John 15:5-6) We need to prune away the dead spiritual branches in our
lives, such as pride, bitterness, hatred, anger and unforgiveness. When I think about pruning, I’m reminded of a
time in
God’s touch is a CONQUERING TOUCH. (Romans 8:37) I’m reminded of an illustration I read that reinforces being a conqueror. There were two heavy weight boxers who stepped into the ring to fight. About the third ring one of them was knocked out. The loser lay on the floor. The conqueror was given a million check with his name on it. He lifted it up and showed the audience and was proclaimed as the mighty conqueror. He was given the heavy weight title belt next. He lifted it up and again the audience proclaimed him as the mighty conqueror. It was time for the conqueror to go home. He drove home to his yard and got out of his vehicle, walked to his door and his wife met him at the door with her hand extended. He handed her the million dollar check and she became more than a conqueror without even throwing a punch. That reminds me of God and Satan stepping into the ring nearly 2,000 years ago. Round one, Satan looked like the winner. The crown of thorns was put upon Jesus’ brow and a cat of nine tails was fashioned and put upon his back 39 times. Round two, once again it looks like Satan is going to win. Jesus is nailed to a cross, hanging between heaven and earth, it looks like Satan had won. Jesus cries out, “it is finished” and He bows His head and willingly submits to death. Satan forgot about the third round. One that third day we called Easter morning as Jesus lay in His tomb, the ground shook and the stone rolled back and the angel seated there said, He’s not here, He’s risen!” Jesus has in His hands the keys of death, hell and the grave. He comes forth as THE CONQUEROR. He come to the New Testament church, that is you and I and hands to us the keys to the Kingdom and says “you are now more than a conqueror.”
Are we a conqueror OR are we being conquered. The choice is yours. Make the right choice to be a conqueror in every facet of your life.
God’s
touch is a HEALING TOUCH. (Luke 6:19 and
Psalms 34:19) I’ve seen many miracles in
our ministry, but the greatest miracle I’ve ever seen is the miracle of a soul
been changed. You can receive a healing
touch for your soul, body and spirit.
All you have to do is call upon the One who can truly touch you and make
a difference in your life. I would
challenge you in closing, to call on the name of Jesus for all your needs to be
met in Jesus’ name!
